How to make the most of your first day in the House

Wild crowds, free-flowing Champagne, your own private swimming pool... entering the Big Brother House might seem like a walk in the park. But once the bubbly dries up, the real work starts, and it takes a certain type of person to embrace the unique surroundings.

So how have our new housemates dealt with their first day in Britain’s most infamous abode?

Find your friends

Day Two is all about making friends. BB has allowed our housemates some rare peace time to get to know each other today. They even let Matthew out of his sweaty greenhouse so he could join in.

Matthew and Steven

... but don’t make any enemies

This one’s crucial. If you want to avoid that nerve-jangling first nomination, then it’s best to steer clear of drama early on. Helen’s already wary of Winston.

Get your kit off

Talking of Winston, he ticked the fourth box of Big Brother first days just five minutes after waking up: get naked... and get noticed.

Don’t say anything stuipd

If you want to make a good first impression on your fellow housemates, it’s probs best not to do what can hereby be known as ‘A Mark’. He’s already come out with a corker.

Go exploring

Hidden doors? Secret rooms? A magic portal down the loo? There’s only one way to find out: get out your compass and go exploring!

Command the kitchen

Pauline has already chucked her oven mitts all over those chick peas. But she needs to watch out for Christopher, he’s already shotgunned stewing the first supper.

...but ration the food

Food is scarce in the BB House, and every crumb should be savoured. So don’t do A Mark (again) and eat nine pears in the one day. NINE!
